Straight Arrow Products, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Batcher/Compounder at its Bethlehem, PA location. Straight Arrow Products, Inc. produces the brand names Mane ‘n Tail®, Hoofmaker®, and Mineral Ice® exclusive hair and skin care products renowned for quality and performance in both the Equestrian and Human markets. Straight Arrow continues to manufacture all of its own products right here in the USA, adhering to strict quality assurances, guidelines and consistently meeting that same performance standard. The –Batcher/Compounder pre-weighs and prepares quality batches of product for transfer to production areas for assembly, packaging and shipment. Responsibilities include sampling of all new chemicals and accurate record keeping of results, batching product in compliance with good manufacturing practices, maintaining batch sequence log and current batch records, preparing pre-weighs by using pre-weigh control sheet and upon completion of batch process, ensures timely processing of all associated paperwork. Takes pH and viscosity tests of batches, records results, and adjusts mixture when necessary to conform to requirements. Cleans and sanitizes all work area and equipment, ensures machinery and equipment is turned off at the end of the shift. Identifies and participates in the resolution of safety related issues and reporting.

Must have a high school diploma or GED and one to three month’s related experience and/or training. Must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and communicate effectively in writing and speaking. Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals; compute rate, ratio, and percent; draw and interpret bar graphs. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, frequently walk, reach with hands and arms, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear, taste and smell. Must be able to lift and move heavy objects, and regularly lift and/or move 100 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
